About ManPlaybook

I built this because nobody wrote the manual for guys like me

I’m short. I started going bald in my late twenties. And for years, every style guide I read online talked to some other guy, tall, full head of hair, standard build, never me.

So I did what I always do when something doesn’t work. I took it apart.

From debugging code to debugging outfits

I spent most of my career in IT before I walked away to build online businesses full time. That side of my life has crossed the 1 million dollar mark now, and I’m proud of it, but that’s not really what this site is about.

What matters here is the habit IT gave me. When something’s broken, you don’t guess. You isolate the variable and test it until you know exactly what fixed it.

I started applying that same process to my closet.

Turns out most “style rules” floating around online are written for one specific body: tall, lean, proportional. They get repeated everywhere as if they apply to all of us.

They don’t. A blazer cut that flatters a lean 6-footer can make a guy with a belly look boxier. A shirt fit that reads sharp on a big, broad frame can swallow a skinny guy whole.

Nobody was writing the version for the rest of us. So I started researching it myself and testing it on my own body.

Along the way I talked to plenty of other guys with different builds about what actually worked for them, kinda informally at first, then more seriously once I realized how much I was learning.

What ManPlaybook actually is

This isn’t a fashion magazine. It’s a set of playbooks, plural, because “how to dress well” isn’t one answer. It’s a different answer depending on your starting point.

Right now, ManPlaybook covers three body types that get almost nothing in the way of real, specific advice:

Guys dressing with a belly, where most “rules” just say “wear dark colors” and stop there. Big and tall guys, who get pointed at three overpriced brands and told to be grateful. And skinny guys, who get told to “just work out” instead of getting actual layering and fit advice for the body they have right now.

Every guide on this site follows the same format. I call it the Real Fit Check.

First I name the actual problem your body type runs into. Then I explain the construction or fabric detail that fixes it, not just “this looks good,” but why it works.

Last, I point you to a real product, verified and priced, not a guess.

And yes, this is just the start. Over time, ManPlaybook will grow past style into grooming, mindset, and the rest of what it means to build a life you’re actually proud of. Same brand, same system, new playbooks.

A quick word on trust

Some of the links on this site are affiliate links, meaning I earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I’ve personally researched and verified. If something’s overpriced junk, I’ll say so, commission or not.

I’m not a professional stylist. I don’t have a fashion degree.

What I have is a habit of taking apart problems nobody else bothered to solve properly. And, honestly, a pretty stubborn need to know why something works before I’ll recommend it to you.

If you’ve spent years feeling like fashion advice wasn’t written for your body, this site was built for exactly that reason. Pick your playbook and let’s get started.
